LE error in LG washing machine

If you see the LE error on the display of the LG washing machine, this is accompanied by the impossibility of executing any program. The unit tries to rotate the drum, but nothing happens. If you try to twist it by hand, it moves freely. It also happens that the drum rotates but too slowly while making noise, buzzing, vibrating, and twitching. The LE error occurs in direct-drive models of washing machines. It means that, for some reason, the device's engine is blocked. Before calling the wizard, you can try to deal with this yourself.

How to fix it on your own

First of all, check if the door is closed properly. Could you open it and slam it tight again? If a delicate program is selected - for example, hand washing - the reason may be an overload due to a large amount of laundry. Remove some clothing and rerun the cycle. You should first ensure that no foreign object is stuck between the door and the machine. The error also occurs due to a temporary software failure. It is fixed by restarting the washing machine. To do this, it is disconnected from the outlet and stays like this for 10-15 minutes, and then starts again from scratch. The reason may be too low voltage in the network - then you need to call an electrician.

What damage can be?

If the LE error does not disappear after a restart, this indicates such malfunctions:

Breaking Causes How to eliminate
The drum is not spinning. The washer makes a lot of noise. Failure of the tach generator responsible for the rotation of the drum. Replacing sensors or tach generator transistors.
No drum rotation. The motor winding burned out. If the cause is in the winding, install a new stator. When this does not help, change the engine completely.
Program hangs during execution. The control board has failed. Re-soldering the tracks of the board, or, if the processor is faulty, a replacement.
The door does not close. UBL broke. Installation of a new UBL.
The hatch does not close, the handle moves strangely. Door handles defective. Handle replacement.
The door is not blocked. Damage to contacts / wiring. Installing a new wiring harness.
